Nachos @ White Horse Tavern

What: Nachos with Chili (Tortilla Chips, Cheddar Cheese, Beef Chili, Guacamole and Sour Cream)
How much: $5.95
Rating: 5
Overall review: The nachos at the White Horse Tavern are exactly what you'd expect at the White Horse. There's nothing fancy going on with these nachos dammit!. The chips are from a bag and the guacamole is from a jar. There are few nice touches, the chili is tasty and the chips are slightly burnt and crispy. Of course the rating goes up depending on how many White Horse Ales you've downed before eating.

Nachos @ Mugs Ale House

Restaurant: Mugs Ale House
Location: 125 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Ingredients: Fresh guacamole, jalapenos, cheese, and sour cream
Description: Light on the toppings. Outta the bag chips. Flavors were great, but lots of naked chips about 2/3rds through.

Nachos @ Josie Woods

Restaurant: Josie Woods
Rating: 5
Description: good portion size. Beans make the chos a little bland.

Nachos @ The Sixth Ward

Where: The Sixth Ward, Orchard St,New York,United States
What: Chicken nachos
How much: $10.95
Rating: 5
Our Review:  These tie with nice guy eddies for bar 'chos. Good flavor and decent portion size. Fair amount of topping. Outta the bag chips and over complicated chip layout made sharing difficult and uneven topping distribution. The chef purposefully surrounded the plate circumference with naked chips. Also a tad dry.

Nachos @ Nice Guy Eddies

Bar: Nice Guy Eddies
Location: E Houston St, New York, United States
Ingredients: Outta the bag tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, chicken, and jalapeños with sour cream and salsa on the side.
Price: $11
Rating: 5
Brief description: So so 'chos. Salsa and sour cream on the side made these 'chos extra dry. Good amount of cheese and jalapeños. Guac was absent and so was Miami. Good place to go and watch Sunday football. Go Steelers!!

Nachos at American 66

Restaurant: American 66
Location: Paris, France
Type: Nachos Especial
Ingredients: Croquant, moelleux, relevé ... volia une belle combinasion!! Chips de mais, fromage rapé, guacamole, crême et piment galapanos, haricots rouges.
Cost: 8.50

Rating: 5

Brief Review: As expected these french nachos were generous with the cheese. The beans, salsa, crème and pico de gallo were very good, but not well integrated. More like "dip chips", a new category for yummy nachos. This is where all the toppings are in the middle and you grab a chip to dip. Terrible guacamole. Lots of broken chips and crumbs - the worst faux paux for nachos yet! (see lower right hand corner)

8.3.2008: Nachos at El Rancho

Restaurant: El Rancho
Location: 2904 Route 32, Saugerties, New York
Type: Nachos Boracho
Cost: $7.99
Ingredients: corn chips topped with beans, melted cheese, jalapenos, and pico de gallo. Served with guacamole and sour cream
Rating: 5

Description: There were a lot of naked chips, which is a no-no in yummynacho's book.  The guacamole and sour cream was served on the side and we had to add directly to the chips to give some extra oomph.

7.27.2008: Nachos at Monks Lounge/Friar Tuck Inn

Restaurant: Monks Cafe at the Friar Tuck Inn
Location: 4858 Route 32 No. 1, Catskill, NY 12414
Type: Nachos
Ingredients: Round nachos chips topped with cheese whiz, olives, tomatoes, and jalapeños.
Cost: $6.95
Rating: 5

Brief Review: Great portion size and plentiful toppings. These were tasty for basic upstate bar nachos. The cheese whiz and the round salty chips were the big negatives about these nachos. The large portion size and generous toppings were the redeeming qualities.

2.15.2008 Nachos at Broome Street Bar

Restaurant: Broome Street Bar
Location: 363 West Broadway (corner of Broome Street), NYC

Type: Super Nachos
Ingredients: Corn chips, melted cheddar cheese, jalapeños, salsa, sour cream, onion, and tomato
Price: $6.50
Rating: 5

Brief Review: They had no right to call these nachos Super Nachos. There was really nothing super about them. These are comparable to stadium nachos or glorified chips and salsa. However, sans the onions they still tasted pretty good. =)

2.13.2008 Nachos at Dive Bar

Restaurant: Dive Bar
Location: 732 Amsterdam Avenue and 96th St., NYC
Type: Nachos (Large)
Ingredients: Nacho chips topped with cheddar cheese, sliced jalapeños, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.
Cost: $12
Rating: 5

Brief Review: The first couple of bites were delicious. However, the nachos soon became very soupy from the salsa. Most of the toppings were cold including the cheese!
