Nachos @ Diablo Royale

Where: Diablo Royale
What: Nachos (w/ beans and chicken)
How much: $12
Rating: 7
Brief Description: Delicious homemade chips and yummy fresh guacamole! Portion size was a little small and these chos could have used a bit more cheese.

Nachos @ The Sixth Ward

Where: The Sixth Ward, Orchard St,New York,United States
What: Chicken nachos
How much: $10.95
Rating: 5
Our Review:  These tie with nice guy eddies for bar 'chos. Good flavor and decent portion size. Fair amount of topping. Outta the bag chips and over complicated chip layout made sharing difficult and uneven topping distribution. The chef purposefully surrounded the plate circumference with naked chips. Also a tad dry.

Nachos @ Nice Guy Eddies

Bar: Nice Guy Eddies
Location: E Houston St, New York, United States
Ingredients: Outta the bag tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, chicken, and jalapeños with sour cream and salsa on the side.
Price: $11
Rating: 5
Brief description: So so 'chos. Salsa and sour cream on the side made these 'chos extra dry. Good amount of cheese and jalapeños. Guac was absent and so was Miami. Good place to go and watch Sunday football. Go Steelers!!

Nachos @ Mary Anns

Restaurant: Mary Ann's Mexican Restaurant
Location: East Village
Rating: 4
Ingredients: Tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, jalapenos, and refried beans.
Price: $4.95
Brief description: Good flavors, but only enough for one. Crispy on the edges and great to have sour cream, salsa and guacamole on top, but all the beans made the nachos implode into a soggy mess.

Nachos @ Pinche Tacqueria

Restaurant: Pinche Tacqueria
Type: Nachos
Price: $6.25
Ingredients: Handmade corn tortilla chips with cheese, guacamole, beans, sour cream and jalapeños.
Rating: 8

Brief Description: Delicious! Lots of cheese and yummy salsa verde.  We've had these a few times and they're pretty consistently yummy. Great pick for nachos around NYU. Order with or without chicken. Just as yummy.

Nachos @ Phebes

Restaurant: Phebes
Type: Fiesta Nachos
Price: $9.95
Ingredients: Jack and cheddar cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, onions, and chicken. Topped with sour cream, guac, and salsa.
Rating: 8

Brief Description: Delicious nachos. Tons of cheese and topping. All toppings were on top, rather than as sides. Few naked chips, great portion size, and did we mention super cheesy?? We wish the chips were homemade, but at least they were tasty.  The chicken was a little dry -- try it without, but don't skip on these chos, Phebes certainly didn't!

Nachos at Saint Marks Ale House

Restaurant: Saint Marks Ale House

Location: 2 Saint Marks Place NY, NY

Type: Tex Mex Nachos

Ingredients: Grilled chicken, black beans, sliced jalapenos, diced tomatoes, monterey jack and cheddar cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.
Price: 10
Rating: 6

Brief Review: There are definitely things to admire about the Nachos at Saint Marks Ale House, particularly the cheese with its slightly burnt edges and it's overall greasiness. However, even with a strong layering of cheese and grease, these nachos quickly dry out due to the unimaginative topping distribution and overcooked chips. If you're on your fourth or fifth beer, then these will certainly hit the spot, but if you want to be fulfilled you may have to look elsewhere on the menu. Total in-betweeners!

Nachos at Marfa Restaurant and Bar

Location: 101 East 2nd Street, NY NY 10009
Ingredients: Nachos with cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream
Price: $7
Rating: 8

Description: Thanks VM for recommending the pork nachos from Marfa in the LES. Highly recommend it with notes of nutmeg and delicious cheeses. I'd give it a solid 8. Not to mention the ambiance--various sequined drag queens from Lucky Chengs (sharing the same building) floating through for cocktails. It's a hoot.

Type: Macho Nachos
Menu Description: Tortilla chips piled high with shredded cheddar, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos, sour cream and cheese.

Rating: 4

Brief Review: Nothing at all special about these nachos served up in foil pan. Pretty much glorified chips and salsa nachos with some extra toppings. Ingredients were generally cold. Boring.

Nachos at Croxley Ales

Restaurant: Croxley Ales
Location: 28 Avenue B, NYC
Type: Nachos Supreme with Chicken
Ingredients: Tortillas, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, olives jalapenos, tomatoes, and cheese (cheddar and cheese whiz).
Cost: $7.95 + 4.00 for chicken
Rating: 7

Brief Review: Great portion size, lots of toppings. Interesting combination of shredded cheddar and cheese whiz. Chips were disappointing. Lots of "queen mother chips" and too many of naked chips left at the end.

6.12.2009: Nachos at Kate's Joint

Restaurant: Kate's Joint
Location: 58 Avenue B (at 4th Street), NYC

Type: Nachos Grande
Ingredients:
Cripsy tortilla chips topped with black beans, chili, cheese, jalapeños, salad, salsa, and dairy free sour cream.
Cost: 8.95
Rating: 6

Brief Review: Too much bean and soupy. Less lettuce, more salsa. Needed some spice and salt, but survived as decent nachos sans salsa and guacamole. Good portion size.

5.06.2009: Nachos at Central Bar

Restaurant: Central Bar
Location: 109 East 9th Street, NYC
Type: Central Bar Nachos with Chicken
Ingredients: Corn tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole, jalapeños, beans, sour cream, scallions, cheddar cheese, and chicken.
Cost: $10
Rating: 8

Brief Review: Avoid the off-the-menu version of Central Bar's nachos (see left pic). Instead,
ask for the customized nachos and you'll get some super yummy nachos (see right pic). The customized nachos were piled high with the works and a generous helping of chicken. The portion size was ridiculous!

7.15.2008: Nachos at Stillwater

Restaurant:
Stillwater
Location: 78 E 4th St, NYC

Type: Nachos

Ingredients: Tortilla chips, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and jalapeños.

Cost: ?

Rating: 4

Brief Review: Disappointing nachos. The key toppings that added a bit a flavor to these dry and boring nachos were on the side (guac, sour cream, and salsa). The portion size was miniature and the chips were out of a bag.
